Jocelyn Lui Hoi Yi is a lens-based visual artist whose work harnesses the transformative power of art to challenge perceptions and inspire societal change. With a rich background in fashion design, Jocelyn creates immersive experiences that integrate photography, collage, textiles, ceramics, and sound art. She draws from personal experiences to navigate complex family relationships and explore nature’s metaphors.​Her artistic journey is deeply intertwined with themes of memory and transformation, reflecting her self-healing process through creative expression. Jocelyn’s interdisciplinary approach enhances her storytelling, inviting viewers to engage on sensory and emotional levels, and fostering profound reflection on their lives.​

Education and Background

Jocelyn ​received her Master of Arts in Fashion and Textile from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She also completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Photography and a Professional Diploma in Fine Art in Hong Kong. Her diverse educational background enriches her artistic practice, allowing her to reconstruct childhood memories and explore the complexities of life.​Exhibitions and RecognitionIn 2023, Jocelyn debuted her solo exhibition, "The Wings of the Wind," at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre.

She was honoured with the Emerging Artist grant from the Hong Kong Art Development Council and participated in the Culture Exchange Project Grant to the Czech Republic.

Looking ahead

Jocelyn is set to curate an art exhibition in 2025 and engage in community art projects, including training programs for artists with intellectual disabilities.​Community EngagementJocelyn is passionate about community involvement and mentorship.
